There are several principles that you can use to help prioritize and organize your life. I like using the Pareto Principle which I’ll share with you. Pareto’s Principle which is also known as the “80-20 Rule” states that you can get 80% payoffs from 20% of your efforts. To utilize this rule you may need to change your habits leading up to this point bearing in mind that in order for you to do so you need to have Knowledge, Skills and a Desire to want to change which involves a complete Paradigm Shift.

Before you apply Pareto’s Rule to help prioritize and organize your life you should have a mission statement and a plan because if you fail to plan you are planning to fail. You need to know where you’re going and know how you’re getting there.

Let’s take a closer look at Mission Statements for this blog and future blogs will illustrate further principles that you can use to help prioritize and organize your life.

Mission Statement   Your Mission Statement is a short succinct statement including your key points and should look something like this:

Melanie’s Personal Mission Statement:  ” My mission is to help people live better by inspiring and providing them with practical information that they can use on a daily basis ” .(24 words) This is just an example ~ your statement should be memorized so that it can be repeated very easily when needed. Understand this statement, then go about putting your goals in place to make sure you can accomplish this.

Take some time and work on your personal mission statement.

In the next blog we will discuss Goal Setting.
